Build Templates

Templates keep your communications on-brand and save time on repetitive messages.

Create a template

  1. Go to Communications → Templates and click New Template.
  2. Choose the channel (Email or SMS).
  3. Add a name, subject (for email), and body content.
  4. Insert merge fields like {{first_name}} or {{event_date}} to personalize.

Use a template

Templates can be used when:

  • Sending a one-off message
  • Configuring an automation
  • Sending from a related record (e.g., volunteer event reminder)

Versioning

Edits to a template don't affect messages already sent. Use Duplicate if you want to keep the original intact while iterating.
