Track Sweat Equity

Sweat equity is the partner family's investment of time into their own home and the broader Habitat mission.

Set hour requirements

Under Homeowners → Settings → Sweat Equity, configure:

  • Total required hours per adult
  • Hours that can be contributed by friends and family
  • Categories that count (build site, ReStore, education, etc.)

Log hours

Hours can be logged from:

  • A volunteer event (mark the homeowner as Attended)
  • Manual entry on the homeowner's record
  • Imported timesheets

Monitor progress

The homeowner dashboard shows total, remaining, and category-level hours. Coordinators can flag families who may need extra support to meet their requirement.

Court-ordered overlap

A homeowner-applicant who is also working off court-mandated community service can have the same hours count toward both their build and their court order. When a registrant on a court order has an active homeowner application, Omnivo creates a paired entry: one in Review Hours (always pending — court-ordered hours always require staff approval) and one on the Sweat Equity Approvals page tagged "Court Ordered" with the case fields attached. Approving in either queue approves both. Non-homeowner court-ordered hours never appear here — they live solely in Review Hours.

See Track Court-Ordered and Community Service Hours for the full workflow.
