Complete Your Volunteer Profile
Goal: Get your profile in shape so you receive the right communications, qualify for the events you want, and don't get blocked by missing information at signup time.
Why your profile matters
Ayuna uses your profile to:
- Send you confirmations, reminders, and event-day logistics (so a current email and phone matter)
- Match you to events that fit your interests and skills
- Verify you meet event requirements at registration time
- Recognize your contribution accurately in reports and milestones
Even five minutes spent here pays back through smoother registrations and fewer surprises.
What to fill in
- Contact information — email, phone, mailing address
- Skills you have — note these so coordinators can find you for specialty events
- Availability — typical days/times you're free
- Emergency contact — name and phone for someone to reach if needed during an event
- Notes — anything coordinators should know (mobility considerations, allergies, languages spoken)
You can update any of these any time.
Verified vs. self-reported skills
When you add a skill, it's self-reported — Ayuna trusts you. For skills that gate event registration (licensed trades, equipment certifications), a coordinator will verify the skill, often by checking your license or seeing you work. Once verified, you become eligible for slots requiring that skill.
You don't have to do anything different to be verified — just claim the skills you have, and verification will happen as you participate.
Privacy
Your profile is visible to your affiliate's coordinators, not to other volunteers. Notes you add are visible to coordinators too — keep that in mind.
Updating after life changes
When your phone number, email, or address changes, update your profile right away. The most common cause of missed event communications is a stale email address.
