Share Public Opportunity Links
Goal: Promote a specific event or opportunity to your audience and let them register without creating an account first.
How public opportunity links work
Every event in Ayuna can be opened to public registration via a generated invite link of the form:
/volunteer/opportunities/invite/<token>
When someone visits the link they see:
- The event details (date, location, description)
- The slot types and capacity available
- Any requirements they'd need to satisfy
- A registration form
If they're new to Ayuna, registering via the link creates a volunteer record and registers them for the event in one step.
When to use a public link
- Promoting through your newsletter or social media
- Sharing in community groups or partner organizations
- Embedding in event listings on third-party sites
- Sending to a journalist or board member who wants to bring guests
For sending to specific named people, prefer Invite Volunteers by Email — it gives each invitee a personalized eligibility check.
Pair with eligibility
The public landing page shows which requirements an unauthenticated visitor would need to complete. Make sure the event description names the requirements plainly so people aren't surprised when they're prompted.
Capacity, waitlists, and slot selection
If the event has slot types defined, the public page lets visitors pick which slot they want. When a slot fills up, it disappears from the public page automatically. If the event uses a waitlist, the page makes that clear too.
Tracking
Public-link registrations are flagged with their source token so you can see how each promotion performs. Useful when you're testing a new channel.
